A busy bee. I love yoga, meditation, kickboxing, and following my heart. I work as a freelancer in social care. This gives me the pleasure of working with some of the most exceptional people in our society, often living in a residential/treatment group or being supported towards independent living. A vulnerable group to whom I provide my care with great love.

After graduating, I didn't immediately want to take a permanent job. The project trips with Out of Area had really inspired me, and I wanted to experience more of it. I quit my job and registered as a freelancer, giving me the freedom to do what felt right. For me, the essence of life is letting your heart speak. That resonates deeply with Out of Area's saying: "Experience the feeling of doing good!" Through them, I was given the opportunity to make the world a little more beautiful. Surrounded by people who share this feeling.

Along with a special group of participants, my colleague Esteรฉ and I supervised the LEV-Lumens Group project. It was a mixed group of 35 young people and youth workers who embarked on an adventure to reach young people in Bosnia. And they succeeded. The best moment during this project for me was that our Dutch volunteers, incredibly creative and passionate, organized a fantastic farewell party after a very intensive project week. While the week started off somewhat rough, it ended more than successfully.

"We, as an organization, don't just travel to the former Yugoslavia. In November 2019, we carried out a project in Nepal. The photo shows women from the school's senior classes. They were helping to launch a toilet cleaning project. Initially, not every form of hygiene was evident in their restrooms, so we worked with them to create a schedule to rotate between classes to keep things clean and hygienic for each other."

"A trip is always a success for me. You'll always learn something from it if you're open to it. As a project leader, I really enjoy the moments when our Dutch volunteers become aware of other cultures and open up to them. A connection, a bond, and a different awareness are opened up."
