Lotus project

The Lotus project is an initiative aimed at offering young people challenge and meaning, with the aim of breaking the negative spiral they find themselves in, increasing their future prospects, and helping them think about meaning.

The Reason
The impetus for the Lotus project stems from the increasing search for challenge and meaning among young people. Nearly every village and town has groups of young people seeking challenges in their free time and grappling with questions about meaning.

Everyone knows the examples of early school leavers who struggle to enter the job market without a diploma. Or the young people who, like the previous group, are unemployed for various reasons. They are among the quickest to fall into the streets, where they encounter petty crime considerably more quickly than their peers.

Current regular preventive services don't always seem to have the capacity to respond to this. As a result, young people currently receive little or no help in breaking the negative spiral they find themselves in.

The Lotus project can help you create a breakthrough!

Goal
With this project we want to offer young people a completely new challenge and meaning, by allowing the participating young people to participate in a challenging
The side effects, but often the main goals for schools and the municipality, are to stabilize or reduce nuisance by increasing the future prospects of participating young people.

Vision
We want young people to think about meaning. We want them to set goals to work towards, which will help them become less dependent on the group they belong to and choose for themselves what they find important and meaningful. Empowerment is central to this project.

Project design
The project consists of six different phases;
1. the intake phase
2. the group intake phase
3. the preparation phase
4. the motivation phase
5. the coaching phase
6. the securing phase.

Experience

The Lotus projects were created through collaboration with existing organizations such as municipalities, the police, and youth services. The LOTUS project has proven to be highly successful. Over 67% of the young people have made important decisions after returning and have returned to school, quit drugs, or otherwise made a positive change in their lives.
