Emergency aid

Emergency aid is crucial to help people in emergency situations.

That is why we immediately take action in times of crisis to provide life-saving assistance such as shelter,

to provide food and medical assistance.

We support people during the most traumatic events in their lives and provide assistance wherever possible.

In turn, we also need help with this.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Bosnia and Herzegovina suffered its worst flooding in years. At least fourteen people died, and several are still missing. The storm caused devastation in the central and southern parts of the country, particularly in the town of Jablanica, which has become virtually inaccessible due to landslides and flooded roads.

Rescue workers are searching for victims, while the army has been called in to assist. The situation remains critical, with power and mobile network outages in the affected areas. Aid has been offered from neighboring countries, but access to the hardest-hit areas remains a challenge.

Our project location, Zavod Drin in Fojnica (a facility for people with disabilities), is currently difficult to access due to flooding. The debris on the bridge leading to the parking lot is being cleared with all hands on deck, but the damage is extensive.
All clients from the psychiatric ward have been moved to the central building. This has resulted in not only water problems but also a chaotic human situation.
