The project week day by day
Day 6 Delivery and farewell
Today is an important day; just a little more hard work and the project will be ready for delivery. At the end of the afternoon, we'll celebrate with the residents and caregivers of the facility. After the festivities, dinner this evening will be at Restaurant Asim. From there, you'll have another spectacular view of the lake.
Day 1 Flight Cologne - Sarajevo
At Cologne Airport, you'll meet your project leader very early in the morning. Your project leader will be with you for the entire week of your trip. After a short flight, you'll land at Sarajevo Airport, where you'll be picked up by our Bosnian bus driver. The bus will continue your journey to Lisicici, winding through the mountains. Enjoy the view and take in your first glimpses of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After about an hour's drive, you'll arrive at Lake Jablanica. Welcome to Veliko Srce, which also means "big heart." Make yourself at home and make yourself comfortable.
Day 2 Visit project & Sarajevo
On our way to Sarajevo, we'll visit the project location: the Zavod Pazaric institution. Today we'll simply get acquainted and explore the possibilities. Later in the day, we'll develop a plan of action with the group and divide up the tasks.
Under the guidance of a former soldier and your project leader, we'll then explore the winter sports area of the 1984 Winter Olympics near Sarajevo. Along the way, you'll learn about the wartime history that so deeply defines the country and gain a deeper understanding of the conflict and its impact today.
We'll spend the afternoon in Sarajevo. Don't miss out on a kebab or cevapi sandwich; a delicious lunch.
Afterwards there is the option of taking a city walk. The old part of the city is particularly worth a visit.
Well worth a visit! For enthusiasts, there are also plenty of interesting museums and sights to see.
Day 3 Let's get started!
After breakfast, we'll roll up our sleeves and really get started on the project. We'll have lunch at the location itself, so we can get back on track quickly. After a productive day, we'll travel back to our overnight accommodation by the lake, where we'll have time to freshen up and relax. Before dinner, we'll visit the beautiful town of Konjic, a 20-minute drive away. After dinner, there's plenty of time for a lovely stroll and a visit to the famous Konjic Bridge.
Day 4 Eating with locals
Today we'll be working hard again at the project site. In the evening, we'll visit a Bosnian family. They'll fill your stomach with traditional food. A sip of slivovitz will be a must. Zivjeli! (Cheers!)
Day 5 Excursion to Lukomir
In the morning, you can take on another task or activity at the facility.
After lunch, we'll depart for Lukomir in several cars. A bumpy road brings you to a village that feels like you've arrived at the end of the world. It's as if time has stood still here. In the evening, we'll dine at a cave restaurant in Idbar.
Day 7 Excursion of your choice
Included as standard in this trip is an excursion to Mostar with its famous Stari Most, the Old Bridge. Completely destroyed during the war but perfectly restored. In this beautiful city, you can explore the bridge on your own: visit the museum, shop for souvenirs, or relax on a terrace. Then we continue to Blagaj.
Here you have the opportunity to visit the Dervish House, situated on the bright blue Buna River. It's a beautiful example of Ottoman architecture.

Day 8 Return journey Sarajevo - Cologne
It's time to say goodbye after this intense week. The bus will take you back to Tuzla airport. You have an early flight today. The plane will take you back to Cologne, and from there you'll head home, where you can look back on a meaningful and wonderful week.
