TRAVELLING WITH MEDICATION

If you are travelling with medication that falls under the Dutch Opium Act, you must obtain a Schengen certificate or an English-language medical certificate, depending on your destination.

Examples of controlled medication include sleeping pills, strong painkillers, ADHD medication and medicinal cannabis.

A medication passport provides an overview of the medicines you use and can be helpful if you need to visit a pharmacy or doctor abroad. However, it does not replace an official medical certificate.

For more information about travelling abroad with medication, please visit the Dutch government's website:

PROJECT > Making a Difference in La Ciénaga

For the past three years, students and teachers from Wolfert Collegehave joined Stichting Out of Area in supporting an orphanage in La Ciénaga, near Cabarete in the Dominican Republic.

Together with the local community, previous groups have worked hard to improve the children's living environment and create new opportunities for their future.

Over the years, students have renovated bedrooms, improved outdoor spaces, built a medical room and helped develop three small shops. These shops are designed to provide practical learning opportunities and help the orphanage become more financially independent.

This year, the new group of students will continue the work started by their predecessors. Alongside practical renovation and construction activities, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with the children, exchange experiences and learn from each other.
